Many folks have asked us to describe what kind of church Liberty Baptist Church at Glen Lily is going to be?! Here are the answers to your questions!
1. Bible Preaching!
At Liberty Baptist Church we have chosen to make much of the Word of God! The inspired, inerrant, Holy Scriptures teach us all that we need to know about the Lord our God, about His marvelous salvation plan, and about how we as believers can live a victorious and abounding Christian life! All of the preaching and teaching in our church services and Sunday school classes will come from the beautiful King James Bible; and all of our doctrine, teachings, and practices will be those which are clearly in alignment with the precious Words of God.
2. Christ-honoring Music!
Through the singing of the hymns of the faith and through the beautifully arranged special music, our hearts and minds are prepared to receive the truths from the Word of God. Our God is a great God, and it is both our duty and our privilege to worship Him and praise Him! Through Christ-honoring music and the beautiful hymns of the faith, we are able to express our love to Christ and our thanks to Him for His many blessings. Familiar songs of the faith such as Amazing Grace, At Calvary, The Old Rugged Cross, Rock of Ages, and many others will continue to bless our hearts as they have the hearts of many other Christians in days gone by!
3. A Friendly, Family Atmosphere!
A local church is without question a family! When we come to know Christ as our personal Saviour, we become a part of God’s Heavenly family. All of us have different home-lives, backgrounds, and experiences; but in Jesus Christ, we can have fellowship and unity as believers as we gather together to worship the LORD and to learn His Word as a church family!
4. A Church with a Heart!
The truth of the matter is that there is a hurting and helpless world all around us today! Many do not know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. They have turned to every person and everything but Christ and the Bible, searching for answers to their problems in life. Friends, as Christians, we have the answer they are searching for! It is up to you and me to share the truth with this world and to proclaim the name of Jesus to those who have either rejected Him or who have never heard of Him!
Mark 16:15 “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” This passage is often called the Great Commission; and, as a church and as individual Christians, it ought to be our Great Concern! Our prayer is that Liberty Baptist Church would keep a tender heart for God; and, in that way, we will always have a tender heart for others!
